Uncharted PS3 Goes Gold, Demo Coming Mid Nov.

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, the premiere PlayStation 3 adventure title from Crash Bandicoot and Jak and Daxter creator Naughty Dog, has gone gold.

"We went ‘gold’ last week," Naughty Dog AI and animation programmer Christian Gyrling posted in the commnets of the official PlayStation blog. "Right now the game is in other words 100% done and is currently going through the approval process."

The timing of the gold announcement bodes well for the title's planned release on November 20. For more on Uncharted, check out our extensive interview and hands-on coverage.

However, it appears players won't need to wait until the game's launch to get their first taste of the expressive Nathan Drake and his treasure hunting ways. "A demo will be available [for download] in the PlayStation Store sometime mid November," wrote Gyrling. "I donÂ’t know the exact date as of now."

I'm looking forward to checking the demo of this out. It's certainly garnered its share of praise, and it would be nice to see the PS3 get a must-have title before MGS4.

Between this and Ratchet and Clank I will actually have something to play other than movies on my ps3.

I don't think this one will be the 'must have'. poor ps3
Little Big Planet will probably be the PS3s first system seller. Sometime early 2008 I think it is slated for.

I think Ratchet and Clank and Uncharted will do more than enough system selling

Financial analysts and level headed gamers don't.
A system seller would be GTA4, metal gear, gt5. not ratchet and clank and not an unknown game. uncharted would need to get extremely high reviews to get enough attention to sell a $400 toy that is very similar to another toy that is a bit cheaper and has more games.
ps3 needs exclusives or they're screwed. 360 has many at this point

critch, a lot less gears, a lot more tomb raider

Do you even realize how stupid this sounds?

Sounds pretty sensable to me. I'm mostly a 360 fanboy but i have money everynow and again and *hate* to miss out on a game because it's not on my system of choice so i got a PS3 a couple of weeks ago. I'v got heavenly blade for it and as of yesterday clank but if you could only afford one system the 360 is a much better value.

I'm interested to see how Uncharted has progressed since I checked it out in May. Lots and lots of potential there.
