Hayter to Voice Snake in Super Smash Bros. Brawl; New Media: Lucas (Not Ness), Tournaments

David Hayter voicing Solid Snake, a new Earthbound character, angry moles, tournament options, and more!

Longtime English-version Solid Snake voice actor David Hayter, whom Metal Gear series creator Hideo Kojima has described as his preferred Snake voice actor in the Metal Gear Solid games, will be lending his gruff utterances to Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Wii), Hayter has revealed on his official site.

Meanwhile, the regular Smash updates fire away. Making his series debut is quiet and unassuming Mother 3 (GBA) protagonist Lucas. It is not known if Lucas replaces the yo-yo slinging Ness as he did in the third Mother game, or if HAL Laboratory and Brownie Brown's conclusion to the series known in North America as Earthbound will ever make it to our shores.

Also shown for the first time are two Final Smashes--Diddy Kong's nutty air assault and Pokemon Trainer's trifecta of pain.

Other revelations include the appearance of Animal Crossing's resident preacher Mr. Resetti as an assist trophy, details on the game's Tourney Mode (supporting up to 32 players), and a showcase of the title's numerous trophies, including a mode in which they can be placed and arranged like action figures.

Brawl jabs and jumps its way into stores December 3. For more information and screenshots, browse our ridiculously expansive main gallery.
