Sony Ambiguously Updates PS3 Firmware

9
Sony has released a "minor" firmware update for the PlayStation 3, bringing the firmware to version 1.92. Sony posted an announcement of the upgrade on the PlayStation Blog, but offered few details of what was included in the mystery update.

Sony PR manager Patrick Seybold said in the post the update "focuses on some PS3 compatibility and playability issues for select titles." Sony's blog post on July 23 about the last firmware update to version 1.90 described the enhancements of that upgrade in detail.

Shacknews contacted Sony for more information, but has not yet received a response.

Anybody else got an error message about the HDD after the update finished flashing and the console was supposed to reboot? I had to reboot manually and everything seemed fine, including the reported firmware version of 1.92. Seen another poster on the PS3 forums which also had a 160GB HDD describe exactly the same scenario. I wonder if anything actually went wrong?
