Not quite the Roman: Total War announcement everyone was waiting for, Activision just sent out a press release announcing an expansion pack for Medieval: Total War. Viking Invasion places the player in 790AD, "when the Viking hordes descended from their Scandinavian strongholds to pillage their neighbors".
