Starbreeze takes over publishing for System Shock 3.

The sequel to cult classic sci-fi horror game System Shock 2 is coming to PC and consoles thanks to Starbreeze. Starbreeze has announced a $12 million investment in the System Shock 3 project and will be promoting and publishing the title. System Shock 3 developer OtherSide Entertainment will retain all rights to the game, as Starbreeze is taking a "distributor-only" role in publishing the title.

System Shock 3 is currently in development and has no projected release date. The title was announced in November 2015 when Night Dive Studios gave OtherSide Entertainment the rights to use the series name. Due to an odd copyright issue OtherSide had the rights to make a System Shock sequel for years, but didn't have the rights to use the franchise's name. Once Night Dive gave its blessing, development on System Shock 3 began.

While there are no real details on what the plot of System Shock 3 will entail, other than SHODAN's return, there is also a reboot of the original System Shock under development by Night Dive Studios. Both System Shock 3 and the System Shock reboot will be coming to PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Xbox One sometime in the next few years.
