Summer Games Done Quick 2017 Date and Deadlines Announced

SGDQ 2017 will be in Minneapolis this year. Check out these important dates and deadlines for the event.

Awesome Games Done Quick 2017 was the largest event in Games Done Quick history. They raised over $2.2 million dollars for the Prevent Cancer Foundation! These donations will go to cancer prevention causes both in the United States and abroad!

Check out this Dark Souls III speedrun from AGDQ 2017 by bubblesdelfuego. He beat the game in 58 minutes and 50 seconds after some technical difficulties. At the end of the stream, Bubbles revealed how after coming out of remission following treatment for Hodgkin’s lymphoma, he actually watched a Dark Souls speedrun from AGDQ 2013 which got him into speedrunning.

SGDQ2017 will be benefitting Doctors Without Borders! Games Done Quick will be announcing the hotel, and also the various deadlines for the event in the coming weeks. The updated Attendee and Submissions guides for SGDQ2017 will be available this weekend.

Asif Khan is the CEO, EIC, and majority shareholder of Shacknews. He began his career in video game journalism as a freelancer in 2001 for Tendobox.com. Asif is a CPA and was formerly an investment adviser representative. After much success in his own personal investments, he retired from his day job in financial services and is currently focused on new private investments. His favorite PC game of all time is Duke Nukem 3D, and he is an unapologetic fan of most things Nintendo. Asif first frequented the Shack when it was sCary's Shugashack to find all things Quake. When he is not immersed in investments or gaming he is a purveyor of fine electronic music. Asif also has an irrational love of Cleveland sports.
