How to Build Roller Coasters in Planet Coaster Early Bird Alpha

I mean.. that's the big question here, right?

Frontier Development’s Planet Coaster has just entered the Early Bird Alpha  stage, which means those who have preordered the game can hop in and start creating their very own theme parks right this second. Since it is alpha the game is pretty barebones, which means a lot of the features and buildable items aren’t quite available yet. Right off the bat some of you might have noticed that the Coasters section of the build menu is grayed out in the game. That’s because the coasters aren’t officially and openly released in the alpha because they’re still under heavy construction back at Frontier HQ. Thankfully we know a quick and easy way to unlock the coaster building section, and this guide will teach you everything you need to know to build the next big coaster.

The first thing you need to do is boot up your game, and an applicable park of your choice. We chose to go with one of the sandbox options, that way we could build our very own park from scratch. From here you need to open up the Rides menu and click on the small magnifying glass icon. This will open up the game’s search option, which is really handy for finding the exact things you want to find. It’s also really handy for unlocking hidden parts of the game.

Once you’ve open the search option click on the search box and type in underconstruction. Make sure it’s all lowercase and all one word or it might not work. This will unlock the Coasters option on your bottom menu bar. From here you can choose to build from one of two different types of coaster tracks.

There you have it. Time to get started building your very own roller coaster! Oh, and don’t worry about killing anybody… Thankfully Frontier knows we’re all going to be bad at building these things, and they’ve made them less violent than the old Roller Coaster Tycoon games I grew up playing. I’ll never forget those fiery balls of death launching from their tracks. Anyways, what are you still doing here? Get out there and build some epic coasters!
