Oculus Connect 2 is taking place this week, and Oculus VR took the stage this morning to make a number of new announces. The first was its partnership with Samsung to deliver a better VR experience for mobile devices through Oculus Mobile.
The Samsung Gear VR is powered by Oculus Mobile and has been redesigned to be used with Samsung's 2015 flagship mobile devices, which includes the Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy Note 5, and Galaxy S6 Edge+. The new Samsung Gear VR is 22% lighter and features improvements to its touchpad and overall feel.
The new Samsung Gear VR will retail for $99 and will be available for purchase in time for Black Friday, which means we should expect it to release prior to November 27.
