Samsung has announced its Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, which is nearly identical to its previously-released Galaxy S6 Edge, although it features a larger, curved screen.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus has a 5.7-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED curved screen, octa-core Exynos 7420, 4GB of RAM, a 16MP rear-facing camera, and a non-removable 3,000mAh battery. It will have wireless charging support and will charge at a faster rate than other devices. It will also come with LTE CAT9 support.

It appears Samsung is making the Edge Plus' curved display a little more useful this time around as App Edge will allow users to slide their finger from the edge to the center to bring up their favorite apps for quick access. This could be helpful for those who absolutely, positively need to keep tabs on their Facebook feeds while on the go. Best of all, Samsung is planning to launch an API for developers so they can create their own Edge-friendly experiences in the future.

It will be available in the US on August 21 with pre-orders starting today at 3pm.
