Atlus has announced the Spike Chunsoft-developed Attack on Titan game will be heading to the Nintendo 3DS in western markets next month.

Attack on Titan: Humanity in Chains is based on the upcoming Japanese remake of the original Attack on Titan game, which will allow players to take on Titans both locally and online in 4-player co-op. The game will also support the New 3DS XL’s C-Stick as well as the Circle Pad Pro.

The title will feature a Story Mode that has players assuming the role of a member of the elite Scout Regiment, which are tasked with defending the outer walls from Titans, who just so happen to have an enhanced AI behavior that will pose an even greater challenge this time around. That isn’t the only update Spike Chunsoft has made to this game as there are updates to its UI and improvements in gameplay balance.

Attack on Titan: Humanity in Chains will also include a number of iconic characters from the popular manga and anime series, including Eren Jaeger, Mikasa Ackermann, and others that the player will be able to choose to help them defend the Walls. Some additional improvements include new weapons, customizable outfits, and voices will also be included.

Attack on Titan: Humanity in Chains will be available in North America and Europe on the Nintendo eShop in May. Atlus will reveal the exact release date and pricing for the game at a later date.
