It's been a long, winding road for DriveClub, which was originally supposed to debut alongside the PlayStation 4 last year, only to stall with a lengthy delay. However, it appears that Evolution Studios is back on track with the title, as it debuted a new trailer this week at Gamescom, assuring that it'll meet its October release period with no problem.

In the new trailer, social is the name of the game, as you'll be able to accept and dish out challenges to other players across the world, then see if they have what it takes to keep up with you on the road. Events can also be created, in case you feel like racing an entire crew at once.

In addition to getting points for victories, you can also additional ones for your team by driving with flair or expert precision, and maybe even pulling off a trick or two in the process. It's not always about just careening towards the finish line. Sometimes, you just gotta have a little style.

DriveClub will pull into garages everywhere on October 7th.
