It has been over two years since the PlayStation Vita first came out, and now Sony has released an updated model to U.S. stores. The Borderlands 2 Limited Edition bundle is available for purchase at the price of $199.99. It comes with the redesigned PS Vita system, an 8 GB memory card, and a downloadable copy of the hit shooter with all its DLC expansions.
The new PlayStation Vita is approximately 20 percent slimmer and 15 percent lighter than the previous model. It also features extended battery life and has 1 GB of internal memory, which relaxes the need for a separate memory card. However, you'll still need one for big games like Borderlands 2.
The original model's OLED screen is replaced with a crystallized LCD screen, which appears to be a good looking high-definition screen so far. It also fits in nicely with the Vita's revised look, which has rounded edges to make it easier to hold.
Like the previous system, the new Vita is fully compatible with the PlayStation 4's "Remote Play," which currently has over 1,000 games available. More games are being added, including the recently released God of War Collection. Soul Sacrifice Delta and The Sly Collection are both due later this month.
