Minecraft is heading to retail on PlayStation 3 soon, marking one more plank for the wildly popular block-building game. Mojang announced today that it will hit May 16, and the disc release will include all the additions from the recent update 14.
Mojang gave the date on the PlayStation Blog. Update 14 included emeralds, new recipes, and zombie villagers, and various customization options and fixes.
Minecraft has been a sure hit on every platform it's come across, recently reaching 13 million on PC and 10 million on Xbox 360. It even moved a million digitally on PS3 in its first month. The retail 360 game was actually one of 2013's best-sellers, so we can probably expect to see Minecraft for PS3 hitting the charts sometime soon.
