Football may be the world's most popular sport, but American audiences often find it a little too slow, lacking in razzmatazz and shouting. For Americans who've been curious about the FIFA games but not inspired enough, maybe 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil, announced today by EA, will lure you in. After all, if anything can make football exciting for rubes, it's Brazilians.

World Cup Brazil takes the core of FIFA 14 and transforms it into the sporting extravaganza, with 203 national teams, 7,469 players, 12 authentic Brazilian stadiums, and other nine other sportsfields on top. As well as the big event itself, it boasts a 'Road to the FIFA World Cup' mode, where players can take any single team and move them through qualifying. Naturally, there's all sorts of multiplayer and other World Cup-y modes.

Though it's built upon FIFA 14, it does have a few new tricks, including over 100 new animations and improved controls. It also has nice touches of national flair, like 'live' cuts away to crowd reactions from gatherings in the team's home country when they score a goal.

Sadly, EA doesn't mention the feature which would make this truly exciting: Brazilian commentary.

2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil is coming only to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, on April 15.
