When a demo for the trilogy-capping RPG Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII unexpectedly popped up on Xbox 360 last week, Square Enix quickly pulled it it, citing a "technical glitch." Today, it's really coming realsies for keeps, arriving on both 360 and PlayStation 3.
"The demo puts players in control of Lightning as she traverses the chaos-infested Yusnaan palace of her old ally, Snow," Squeenix explained. "Players will experience Lightning's new customization options and master the game's completely overhauled battle system."
Anyone who completes the demo and submit their score from the final fight against Zaltys to the game's 'Outerworld' social service will unlock an exclusive 'Siegfried' outfit in the full game. On PS3, simply downloading the demo will net you the 'Utsusemi Garb' DLC for free in the full game, which includes a special fan weapon and shield.
On a separate note, Square Enix also announced retailer-exclusive pre-order bonuses this week. Amazon offers a pack letting with the clothing, staff, and victory pose of Final Fantasy X's Yuna, while GameStop has two samurai outfits.
