2K is shaking things up at 2K Czech, creator of the Mafia series. The publisher is closing 2K Czech's Prague office, shifting some people over to the one in Brno, bringing some from both over to 2K headquarters in California, and some, well, they're just plumb out of a job. What exactly the studio has been up to since 2010's Mafia II is secret, with no new games publicly announced.
"This transition will both strengthen the integration of the 2K Czech team with our award winning development teams, and better align cross-functional business practices," 2K said in a statement provided to Eurogamer. "As part of this realignment, we are adjusting our staffing levels, resulting in the elimination of some positions.""
It's long been rumoured that Mafia 3 is, or was, in development at 2K Czech.
