Shadowrun Returns is just around the corner, marking one of the first releases of a game that went well above its crowd-funding goal. This is the time to get into the nitty-gritty, and the HareBrained team has detailed the two major pillars of the character builder: portraits, and in-game models with gear.
An Kickstarter update details each of them. The game offers almost 200 character portraits, each modeled after personality notes given to artist David Nash. In-game models will also have more than 30 gear sets, though the number is still being nailed down. They say that each has been worked to give it a "big visual punch" that can be seen from a distance due to the isometric perspective. You'll also be able to unlock the character model to toggle variables like hair color, and then you can hire "runners" that will each have their own look too.
Shadowrun Returns is slated for a June release on Steam.
