Fire Emblem: Awakening getting demo, DLC detailed
Fire Emblem: Awakening is coming February 4, and Nintendo has detailed a demo, downloadable content plans, SpotPass and StreetPass features.
Fire Emblem: Awakening is less than a month away, and Nintendo has detailed all kinds of digital plans for the game. Namely, the company outlined an impending demo, downloadable content plans, and details of the SpotPass and StreetPass features.
If you simply want to try out the game before committing to it, a demo will be available on the eShop next Thursday, January 17. The game's February 4 launch will then be accompanied by day-one DLC, a free (for a limited time) map. Additional maps will come weekly at different price points, and include new class types, skills, playable characters, and stories. Some special maps will be geared toward gathering loot, gold, and experience.
The SpotPass will also offer free content within the launch frame with new maps, characters, and items. The StreetPass will let you set up a "StreetPass Team" composed of 10 units from your story mode save. StreetPass characters will appear in the world map, letting you recruit team leaders with gold, buy weapons or items, or battle to recruit the leader for free. You'll earn a visible "renown" rank based on your battles won.
