Minecraft: The Story of Mojang documentary free on Xbox Live
by Andrew Yoon, Dec 17, 2012 3:20pm PSTMinecraft's runaway success caught many off-guard, none more so than Markus "Notch" Persson, creator of the game. Millions of copies later, he founded Mojang, and a new documentary focuses on the challenges of running a video game company. Minecraft: The Story of Mojang is a feature-length documentary that looks at Persson's rise to fame, and offers a detailed look at his new studio.
The film will make its "world premiere" on Xbox Live this weekend, on December 22. The movie will be free to watch for Xbox Live Gold members. According to Major Nelson, you should check out the Minecraft tile on your Xbox Dashboard to see the viewing time for your region.
The Story of Mojang has been long-awaited, especially for Kickstarter backers; 2 Player Productions managed to secure over $200K in funding in 2011. After over a year, the film's release has been eagerly anticipated. Here's a sneak peek:
Kinect for Xbox One coming to PC
Xbox One does not provide any built-in DVR capabilities
Xbox One increases friends lists to 1,000
Xbox One achievements dynamic, not limited to single games
