X-COM: Enemy Unknown gets a healthy dose of love from the crew, and the polarizing nature of Assassin's Creed 3--particularly its opening hours--gets discussed. The gaming scrutiny continues with some talk about Halo 4 and the legacy of 007, before everything gets wrapped up with Finishing Moves and the post-show TailGate.

But is it just me, or is the world of high profile gaming podcasts all but dominated by ever aging PC gaming purists? Sure, you've got Jeff Gerstmann and the Retronauts, but then you've got a bunch of old grognards who wear their affiliation with old-school PC gaming like a badge.
I mean, to each his own, I'll happily respect other people's opinions and all, but I'm finding it increasingly difficult to relate to the topics or games being discussed on shows like this one. The games I play are rarely talked about, and the games that are seem to be praised for merits that I tend to think are tertiary points, if not moot altogether.
Granted, I'm the odd man out in a lot of ways, but it can't be that uncommon for someone to have grown up on a diet of console and arcade games with minimal to no access to a PC, and to have had gaming tastes shaped by platformers, scrolling shmups and JRPGs instead of point and clicks, FPSs or strategy games.
Why is that perspective so rare these days? Is it just a symptom of a self-selecting audience? Or has the gaming audience at large simply become more ubiquitous?

While some in the press may have allegiance to PC gaming, I think the simple fact is.... PC gaming won.
I mean, look at the developers that are dominating the world of console gaming and PC gaming alike.
Infinity Ward
Bioware
Bungie
Rockstar
Bethesda (now including Id Software)
DICE
Gearbox
Irrational Games
Valve
Lionhead and Media Molecule, the former headed up my Molyneux, the second headed up by former Lionhead employees
See a trend? They all started developing on PC, with distinctly western development philosophies and gameplay concepts.
