I would advice you check out some of those episodes since I can't possibly think how it could be done better (still catching up with the bombcast, so I don't know how much they went into it last week).
Plus one of the episodes has the bonus of Garnett defending Prey and everyone else taking him to task (some of the funnier moments).

On the other hand, the fact that the discussion is still very relevant to me, tells me that all these criticisms we're hearing about now are just repeated from the past. It's just a vicious cycle that doesn't seem to be broken, and yet people keep it going.
Unless people bring in new ideas, arguments, and/or critiques, all this stuff on 'gaming journalism' got boring years ago. I could sense the disappointment in Garnett and Jeff's voices when they had to defend or explain their views on something that really didn't deserve so much attention to begin with.
