Natural Selection 2 hatching on Halloween
by Alice O'Connor, Oct 10, 2012 6:00am PDTThe spookiest treat of Halloween 2002 was the very first release of Natural Selection for Half-Life, a splendid asymmetrical sci-fi FPS-RTS mod. Now, developer Unknown Worlds has announced that it'll release the commercial sequel Natural Selection 2 on October 31, exactly a decade later.
NS2 will initially hit PC, then Mac and Linux later. In these last few days, UW says it's tweaking balance, working on help systems, fixing bugs, boosting performance, and generally polishing.
You can pre-order NS2 for $24.99 through Steam or direct from UW, getting a free upgrade to the Deluxe Edition. If you pre-ordered before September 4, you should have already received a free copy to give to a chum and kick-start the playerbase.
