CastleMiner Z is an Xbox Live Indie million seller
by Andrew Yoon, Sep 18, 2012 4:00pm PDTWhile Xbox Live Indie game developers have lamented Microsoft's stunning lack of promotion, one game has managed to become a surprising success story. CastleMiner Z from developer DigitalDNA Games has crossed the one million sales mark, becoming the best-selling Xbox Live Indie game of all time.
For the uninitiated, CastleMiner Z is an online co-op survival horror game that looks not unlike Minecraft. However, unlike Mojang's popular game, you can play as your Xbox Avatar and craft weapons for use to fight enemies. It's currently available on the Xbox Marketplace for 80 Microsoft Points ($1).
Given the success of the game, DigitalDNA is now seeking to bring the game to PC via Steam Greenlight, promising all sorts of PC-specific enhancements.
