Final Fantasy XIV was so shoddy at launch that Square Enix suspended subscriptions until after it had been patched up a bit. It's still a bit dodgy, but a huge 'Version 2.0' update is coming to reboot it and make everything lemony fresh, as detailed in a new hour-long presentation.
Producer and director Naoki Yoshida took to the stage at an event on September 1 celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Final Fantasy series to show off the many ways it's being improved.
