Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon delayed to 2013
by Steve Watts, Aug 13, 2012 5:30pm PDTNintendo just announced a bevy of portable titles set to hit this holiday season. Apparently the company decided it's full-up enough on 3DS games to push back some others, as the announcement also carried word that Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon would be hitting in 2013 instead.
Nintendo didn't mention any specific reason for the delay, but it did give the game a wide berth. It's now slated for the first half of 2013, which means a full six-month window after its previous launch target of this holiday season. If this move is strategic, rather than to allow the game more time to cook, it will be the second time the game has been pushed back to help another quarter's line-up. Nintendo president Satoru Iwata explained in pretty unambiguous terms that 3DS games were being held back in 2011, to explain the absence of games like Luigi's Mansion and Kid Icarus: Uprising.
