Borderlands 2 complete; Mechromancer work begins
by John Keefer, Jul 20, 2012 9:00am PDTBorderlands 2 isn't scheduled to come out until mid-September, but developer Gearbox Software has already completed the game and sent it off for certification. So what will they be working on next? The planned DLC.
Gearbox said in a blog post that the game's "on-disc content has been locked down and will be thoroughly tested to ensure it is ready for release." It's next project is to start working on the new free content for its Premiere Club members, including the new Mecromancer class. The content should be available two to three months after the game hits shelves on September 18. You join the exclusive club just by pre-ordering the game.
For details on what else is coming for Premiere Club members, you can check their web site, but be advised that the Ultimate Loot Chest Edition, one of two special collector's editions, is already sold out.
