JoJo's Bizarre Adventure HD revamps vintage fighter
by Alice O'Connor, Jul 16, 2012 6:00am PDTWhile Asura's Wrath developer Cyberconnect2 works on a new game based upon long-running manga series JoJo's Bizarre Adventure for Namco Bandai, Capcom's dusting off its own vintage JoJo fighting game for an HD re-release. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure HD Ver. will cost $20 on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade, launching August 21 and August 22 respectively.
It'll boast "upgraded HD visuals and a robust set of online features comparable to those in Super Street Fighter IV and Marvel vs. Capcom 3," Capcom says in a blog post.
The fighter was first released in arcades in 1998, then came to Dreamcast and the original PlayStation. The PS version packed an exclusive 'Super Story Mode,' but Capcom hasn't yet said which version the HD revamp is based upon.
Capcom showed JoJo off at Comic-Con over the weekend, where a player captured these scenes of characters flinging kitchen utensils, dropping steamrollers, and summoning guardian spirits:
