THQ closes San Diego studio
by John Keefer, Jun 04, 2012 7:45pm PDTWe heard earlier today that the UFC franchise was transitioning from THQ to Electronic Arts, but what we didn't know until now was that in the process of that transition, THQ would close its San Diego studio that had been working on the franchise and lay off its staff.
"THQ confirms that today's announcement regarding the UFC license transition will affect the company's San Diego studio," the company said in a statement to Kotaku. "THQ is working closely with those relevant staff to either find possible employment within the company, or potentially with EA."
The San Diego team's last title had been WWE All Stars, released last year.

You usually get good and exciting news from E3, but THQ chose to use the first day of E3 to close its Sand Diego studio and layoff its staff.
