Wii U GamePad serves as TV remote, includes L3 and R3 buttons
by Andrew Yoon, Jun 03, 2012 3:15pm PDTNintendo has unveiled the official name and design of the Wii U controller. The "Wii U GamePad" has been redesigned since its debut at last year's E3. The revised design includes full analog sticks, versus circle pads. In a pre-E3 video stream, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata admitted that the original design was better suited to portable devices.
In addition, the new analog sticks feature L3 and R3 buttons by pushing in the analog sticks, a la PS3 and Xbox 360. Surprisingly, the controller will work as a "fully independent infrared TV remote," letting you control both your Wii U console and television from the same device.

I am so sick of this bandwagon horseshit with products where the negativity becomes a self-perpetuating meme with no basis in reason or logic.
People don't like the Wii U or the Wii because they don't want to like it. It has next to nothing to do with anything Nintendo actually does. Microsoft has already proven the idiocy of people's thought process on things like this by rebadging Windows Vista and all of a sudden people loved it. If Wii U fails it will be largely due to the "Wii U is going to fail" meme that hordes of internet retards have artificially created around it.
It is not going to sell as much as the Wii, no. But why is that considered apocalyptic for Nintendo all of a sudden. PS3 has sold a laughably small fraction of what PS2 did and yet Sony is still in business. All of Sony's other businesses are struggling as well and yet you do not see one tenth of the doom and gloom negativity as you do surrounding Nintendo. It's. Just. A. Meme.
Ninty is sitting on a big pile of cash, the the 3DS is turning around, and the Wii U looks to be the most powerful, exciting console they have ever produced. So if you really are a Nintendo fan you are an utter fool to buy into the hater anti-hype hype surrounding the Wii U.
Worst case scenario Nintendo pulls a GameCube and as we all know that wasn't the end of the world, was it?
