Legend of Dragoon coming to PSN
by Steve Watts, Apr 12, 2012 8:15am PDTThe classic PS1 RPG Legend of Dragoon is coming to PlayStation Network on May 1, Sony has announced. The game received a cult following, and even had a sequel in the works at one point that never came to fruition.
On the PlayStation Blog, SCE studios president Shu Yoshida says that Legend of Dragoon took a team of over 100 people, making it the largest game he worked on while at the Japan studio. He also recalls that LOD2 was in production after he left the Japan Studio, but was canceled "for some unknown reason."
The game received a mixed reception, with a common criticism being its generic world. It could have been the victim of oversaturation, since PS1 RPGs were plentiful to say the least. Maybe having it available again will give us a fresh look at the game.
