United Front's next game due this year
by Steve Watts, Jan 30, 2012 11:00am PSTUnited Front Games, the studio behind ModNation Racers, is at work on an unannounced PlayStation 3 title set to come out later this year. Nothing has been formally revealed, but the PlayStation exclusivity coupled with a recent job posting for a track designer point to a sequel for the PS3 customizable kart racer.
Supererogatory points to a job listing for an unannounced PS3 game, coming in 2012. It also reports that the developer was recently looking for a track designer. It seems likely that this unannounced game will be the first console follow-up to the 2010 racer.
ModNation Racers has become something of a platform staple for Sony. So far the game has made an appearance on the PlayStation 3 and PSP, and the PlayStation Vita is getting its own version developed by SCE San Diego. In addition to this new game, United Front Games is working on a new version of True Crime: Hong Kong for Square Enix.
