Insomniac's James Stevenson and game developer Ariel Angelotti join Xav, Jeff, and Garnett for the festivities. Many of you shared stories of your videogame memories from the season which we enjoy retelling with you throughout the show. We also get to talk about some of the games we've been playing like Alan Wake American Nightmare and Star Wars the Old Republic. There's even a little news as we check in on the release of the PlayStation Vita in Japan and the big Steam sale's contest that will see one lucky gamer win the entire catalog on the service. We even remember to get in finishing moves and our end of the season football tailgate.

I am not saying that it is OK for women gamers to get treated differently, I am just saying that it should not be surprising. It doesn't help that there are not more visible females in gaming, and that the ones that do exist tend to skew to the prettier side. Again, I am not saying that it is OK to think a pretty girl can't also be a gamer, but I can see how it raises red flags for some people. Would Morgan Webb, who I think does a great job and is definitely a gamer, still have a job if she was forty pounds heavier or had some poorly placed facial moles?
That said, I think that ALL demographics that are not young white males are under-represented in gaming in every way: from characters in games, to media presents, to the types of titles being offered. I am very thankful that I spent, and still spend a good bit of time on Bitmob, where I have seen a bit more diversity than you get on through your average media site.
This is not just a problem for women in gaming.
