NIS America is bringing yet another Atelier game stateside. Atelier Meruru: The Apprentice of Arland will be available on PS3 in Spring 2012.
The upcoming game will be the third release for the Gust-developed franchise on the PS3, and the 20th in the series since its Japan-exclusive debut in 1997. In Meruru, players take on the role of the "spunky" Princess Meruru, who is on a journey to master alchemy. NIS America promises that there will be returning characters from Atelier Rorona and Atelier Totori.
Like the rest of the Atelier series, Meruru will stay true to its old-school turn-based roots. However, this iteration will feature a "Time Card" system, which promises to add more strategy to the mix. There's also a new "Development" system, which will let you develop new areas and facilities in the world to gain access to new territories. How you develop the kingdom will affect how the story ends.
