Weekend Confirmed 84 - Battlefield 3, Uncharted 3, GTA V announced
by Garnett Lee, Oct 28, 2011 11:15am PDTBattlefield 3 blew up across the video game world this week and its shockwaves carried right over to Weekend Confirmed. But believe it or not, BlizzCon momentarily upstages the modern warfare, as Xav, Jeff, Andrea, and Garnett get distracted by pandas in WoW and the latest title to board the DOTA train. This special episode was recorded in the evening and the crew celebrated with beers and bourbon. So buckle up, it gets bumpy from the start. Along the rest of the way there's talk of Uncharted 3 and Dance Central 2, hopes and dreams for Grand Theft Auto V, and, of course, Finishing Moves.

I'm just saying if you as the press want games to be taken seriously, take yourself seriously for crying out loud.

I was also bringing up a topic of alcoholism as it relates to core gamers. What percentage of gamers do you think are alcoholics? Would it be wrong to say 10-15% of all radio game press is spent speaking about what they drank, how they drank it, where they drank it, or openly getting drunk on air? Is that a problem? What percentage of the listeners are underage would you guess? Would you say 3-5 out of every 12 players you meet on CoD are drunk or getting there? All these I happen to think are important question.
Listen I think the biggest problem gaming is going to see in the next 5-10 years is alcoholism, which is a step back or up from obesity. Sorry if that seems a little more important to me than being swindled out of $10 on a game you can just choose not to buy like I did.
