Darkstalkers re-release coming to PS3/PSP, says ESRB
by Steve Watts, Oct 28, 2011 12:45pm PDTThe Electronic Software Ratings Board has spilled the beans on yet another PS1 Classic, this time an entry from the cult hit fighting series Darkstalkers. A new rating for Darkstalkers: The Night Warrior has been found on the ESRB site. If history is any indication, that means you'll soon be able to plunk down seven bucks for some classic fighting action.
The listing (via Joystiq) lists Sony as the publisher, along with PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable as the platforms, so you can have your weird cat lady clawing at people on the go.
Though it's been a while since we've seen a new Darkstalkers game, Capcom producer Yoshinori Ono recently insisted that the series isn't dead. He had the audience of a Comic-Con panel hold up money to show the executives at Capcom all the precious bills that could be theirs. A re-release isn't exactly what fans had in mind, but who knows? Maybe enough interest in the classic will spark a new game.
