Yakuza 5 details shared by franchise creator
by Xav de Matos, Oct 26, 2011 6:45pm PDTYakuza creator Toshihiro Nagoshi held an online broadcast via Japan's Nico Nico Video network earlier today, revealing the first bits of information on the next game in the series.
A summary of the event, provided by Andriasang, reveals Yakuza 5 will be set in two cities: Kamurocho and an unnamed location. Current "candidates" for the second city include Sapporo, Nagoya, Osaka, and Fukuoka.
Nagoshi would not confirm Yakuza 5 whether the game will focus on a single hero or if multiple playable characters are planned for the title; however, Kazuma Kiryu is most certainly part of the cast. According to Nagoshi, a Yakuza title without Kiryu would be "unthinkable."
The development team has not decided whether it would have "hostess auditions for the game's hostess component," the summary revealed. The game's producer also stated that he'd like to develop a "chapter zero"-style entry in the series, which would delve into the of the Tojo Clan.
Yakuza 5 was first announced in August. A new Yakuza PSP title is also in the works.
