How do you make a sequel to one of the biggest mobile properties? Apparently, you make a tie-in with an animated movie. Like Angry Birds Rio before it, Halfbrick has announced a sequel to Fruit Ninja to coincide with the upcoming release of Puss in Boots. Yep, here's Fruit Ninja: Puss in Boots.

The game will slice up the App Store on October 20th, one week before the movie's theatrical release. Puss in Boots adds two new modes, and for the first time ever, you can "throw down against the most-requested addition in Fruit Ninja history."

Yep. The tomato. (It's a fruit!)

"This is a unique opportunity to combine one of the most popular animated cats of all time with one of the most popular games of all time," Dreamworks Animation's Chris Hewish said in a press release.

In addition to the tomato, Fruit Ninja has two new modes, such as Desperado: a new take on Classic Mode, which features magic beans and "enhanced waves and scoring." Bandito Mode is a "four-tiered challenge adventure," where you must slice through puzzle-esque slicing games.

Fruit Ninja: Puss in Boots has been announced for iOS only, and will be available for $.99 for iPhone/iPod Touch, and $1.99 for iPad.
