Kid Icarus: Uprising delayed into 2012
by Alice O'Connor, Sep 13, 2011 7:15am PDTHigh-flying Nintendo 3DS shooter sequel Kid Icarus: Uprising will have to wait in a holding pattern for a while, as Nintendo has announced at the Tokyo Game Show that it's been delayed from this holiday season.
"The development team," Nintendo explained, "has determined that more time is needed to complete the game." It's now slated to arrive in 2012.
Nintendo casually mentioned during its TGS press conference yesterday that it'd arrive in the first quarter of 2012, but that might only be for Japan.
There is also good (or at least not-bad news) Kid Icarus news, though. Nintendo announced that it's working on 3D Kid Icarus animations with unspecified "critically acclaimed Japanese anime production houses," to be released worldwide via Nintendo Video for free.
If you're jonesing for more Icarus now, now, you can always give our hands-on preview from E3 another read.
