Lollipop Chainsaw coming westward in 2012
by Alice O'Connor, Aug 01, 2011 1:00pm PDTFans of chainsaw-wielding, zombie-slaying cheerleaders, rejoice! No More Heroes and Shadows of the Damned developer Grasshopper Manufacture's newly-announced schlockfest Lollipop Chainsaw is being brought outside Asia by Warner Bros., the publisher announced today.
"Bursting with sex, blood, and rock 'n' roll," Lollipop Chainsaw is headed to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in 2012.
Set in San Romero High School (geddit?), Lollipop Chainsaw tells the tale of cheerleader and zombie hunter Juliet Starling, who "slices, dices and splits her way through hordes of the undead, but soon realizes the horde is only the opening act to a festival of zombie rock lords determined to kill the chainsaw wielding cheerleader." That's certainly a Grasshopper game all right.
It's being made under the direction of Suda51, with former Silent Hill series composer Akira Yamoaka providing pleasant noises, and director and writer James Gunn, of Slither and Tromeo and Juliet fame, chipping in too.
