Weekend Confirmed 66 - FEAR 3, Shadows of the Damned
by Garnett Lee, Jun 24, 2011 11:00am PDTSettling in to summer, the Weekend Confirmed crew finds a stack of great games waiting to be played. Christian Spicer sits in with Xav, Jeff, and Garnett to talk F.E.A.R. 3, Shadows of the Damned, inFamous 2, Trenched, and more in Whatcha' Been Playin? The Warning gets started with a continuation of a discussion that started on twitter about whether names like Mizuguchi, Suda, Mikami, and Yamaoka generate big buzz. The group also looks at all the other big games hitting their 10th anniversary along with Halo and realizes 2001 was a pretty special year. The news and Finishing Moves bring it all home.

BFBC2 was 30fps @ 720p on consoles. It plays great on console. Why is this an issue that they have a better looking more complex game running at the same? Sounds like an achievement to me.
Yes, CoD games run at 60fps, but they don't look as good and actually run sub HD resolutions on consoles and use the built in scalers to output at higher resolutions. CoD is also a faster game than BF3 will be. More arcade-y. So it really does help the feel. But the games are different and what is good for one isn't necessarily the right thing for the other when you consider the trade offs.
I'll be buying BF3 to play both on 360 and PC, just like I did BFBC2. Don't even see why this topic was a big deal around the gaming sphere this week.
