  • Something I've been thinking about, with regards to the Wii 2 controller rumours, that I'd really like the 'Confirmed' guys to discuss, either here or on the show:

What if the touch screen wasn't a screen, but a touch-sensitive pad, akin to the NGP's backpad? I'm thinking specifically with regards to the Wii heart-rate sensor here. What if they'd taken the tech, and implanted it into the controller? The touch interface wouldn't intrude, in fact, you wouldn't be able to see it, and it calculated your heart rate through your fingertips, or the pressure with which you're holding the pad?

Personally, I could see it working especially in a horror game. As you walk down corridors, the controller maps your heart rate, and the pressure with which you're holding it, and then that translates into in-game audio/events.

What I'm trying to say here is, things can get lost in translation all the time, and I fear sometimes that gaming media (including yourselves) can get wrapped up into taking things too literally. How about taking some of the rumours, and adapting them to control schemes and ideas that you think could work?

Thanks for the show every week; I think this was probably one of the best! (ie. get skip on more often)
