Law & Order: LA game being developed by Telltale

Telltale Games has added yet another piece of delicious licensed product to its heaping plate, announcing that it is working with NBC Universal to develop a game based on the TV series Law & Order: Los Angeles. The game is due this year for PC, Mac, console, mobile, and tablets -- those last two undoubtedly mean iPhone and iPad. The partnership leaves room for social media as well, though that isn't an announced platform yet.

The announcement claims that Telltale will draw from its experience with "police and crime procedurals," which makes sense considering its numerous games based on the CSI series like CSI Deadly Intent. For Law & Order, the games are said to focus on police work with a "heavy dose of courtroom drama" as well.

"'Law & Order: LA' fits very well within the style of episodic entertainment experiences Telltale has been building since our very first days," said company co-founder and CEO Dan Connors in the announcement. "The talents and skills that we've been building at Telltale are ideally suited for the structure and storytelling approach of televised procedurals like 'Law & Order.'"

For those keeping score, this marks the eighth game in development from the relatively small studio. Jurassic Park, Hector: Badge of Carnage, Puzzle Agent 2, The Walking Dead, and the remaining episodes of Back to the Future: The Game are all expected to hit this year, with Fables and King's Quest coming sometime next year. If nothing else, the team is keeping busy.
