Splinter Cell, Prince of Persia trilogies delayed
by Steve Watts, Mar 23, 2011 12:45pm PDTAt the 11th hour, Ubisoft has delayed the PlayStation 3 exclusives Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Classic Trilogy HD and Prince of Persia Trilogy HD. IGN reports that the Splinter Cell collection, which was due out yesterday, has been pushed to June 21, 2011. Ubisoft confirmed the delay, but didn't give a reason behind it.
Though not mentioned in the report, the Prince of Persia Trilogy HD, which was announced alongside the Splinter Cell collection and was set to come out the same day, has slipped as well. Several retailers are now listing the game for release on April 19.
As previously announced, the Tom Clancy set includes the original Splinter Cell, Pandora Tomorrow, and Chaos Theory. The Prince of Persia set includes The Sands of Time, Warrior Within, and Two Thrones. Each comes with remastered HD and stereoscopic 3D support and will cost $39.99. The Prince of Persia games are already available for download through the PlayStation Network in North America, for $14.99 each.
