Left 4 Dead 2 DLC Announced, Packing L4D Campaigns and New Community Campaign
by Alice O'Connor, Feb 17, 2011 6:00am PSTA new Left 4 Dead 2 downloadable content pack is in the works, developer Valve has announced, featuring the three remaining Left 4 Dead campaigns that have yet to be ported over to the sequel as well as a new community-made campaign.
The new community campaign dubbed 'Cold Stream' is being made by Matthew Lourdelet, maker of '2 Evil Eyes,' which was Valve's first L4D2 featured campaign.
Valve is also soliciting opinions and suggestions from players. The work-in-progress campaign will be available for all to play "in the next few weeks," and a forum has been set up for feedback and suggestions. Valve explains that following the story-heavy DLCs The Passing and The Sacrifice, this new pack will add no new story or audio, so if you have an idea which calls for neither, head on over to the forum and suggest away.
The yet-unnamed DLC will be released for PC, Mac and Xbox 360 "sometime after Portal 2," which launches on April 20. Valve says that it will be subject to "Valve Time," the process whereby projects take as long as they take rather than being rushed to deadlines, noting that this "is a good thing, not a bad thing."

They say "3 remaining campaigns from L4D1". No Mercy has already been brought over w/ the Sacrifice, but I thought there were 5 campaigns in the first game (outside of DLC)
Did they sneak another L4D1 campaign into L4D2 during some patch?

Bought it for $5 on-sale and I don't think I even got the five bucks out of it. Piss poor game in design, no fun. Bought the second and it is the same as the first one.
A good zombie game seems like it would be so easy to make, but Valve messes it up over and over and shits all-over the genre. Piss poor.

The graphics could be updated (again) as well. The gore could be a little gorier, with the internal organs, hair, and limbs using realistic physics (sorry Australians).
I'd also like to see alternate firing modes on some of the guns. What are the chances of picking up a full-auto AK-47 in America? Very slim. How about a semi-auto AK? Or allow us to choose. While we're at it, it would be nice to choose a scope if we'd like it, as well. There would be tactical disadvantages to it, too: it would take time to put on/ take off, and when it's on you lose the crosshairs in close range.
I could go on. Man, I love L4D - I hope they continue to push the boundaries of what this series could be. I know I'd keep buying them.

On the other side just as a random example Ubisoft ported Assassin's Creed 2 to the PC and the only addition it needed was the mouse and keyboard control, and they messed the mouse acceleration. Did they care enough to patch that and add a simple option to disable mouse acceleration. Of course not.
Besides Valve is getting Portal 2 out in a few months, they have enough on their plate atm. :)
