Crysis 2 Multiplayer Demo Coming to PC on March 1

After revealing a multiplayer-focused demo would launch prior to the game's release for PC gamers, EA has announced that the Crysis 2 trial will arrive on March 1.

Players will be able to square off in six vs. six matches across two maps set in a "war-torn" Manhattan. The first map, Skyline, features battles on the rooftops and interiors of New York's skyscrapers while the second, Pier 17, offers an open environment with limited cover.

Two modes are available in the trial: Team Instant Action, a team deathmatch variant, and Crash Site, a control point battle. A similar multiplayer demo was already released on the Xbox 360.

Crysis 2 arrives on PC, Xbox 360, and PS3 on March 22 in a variety of special edition flavors.

A demo? Didn't I read an article written by the head of Crytek a year or so back claiming that the demo of Crysis 1 ruined sales and that everyone should charge for demos from now on?

6v6 on the PC?!? I think that is waaay to many players. I mean 2v2 is kind of high, but 6v6? They might need to lower the player count because I know PC players hate to have more players then the amount consoles can handle.

Sarcasm by the way, god I love how terrible games are today. I would point fingers but I don't want to start flame wars.

I played the 360 demo and it was beyond disappointing, it actually depressed me. It seemed just like a CoD clone with the power suit. I'm hoping the SP is good, because the MP is in no way a showcase for the game.

I think with 6v6 we can assume this won't be like the first game which was sandboxy Battlefield-esque. I guess after how the previous game's multiplayer community dwindled out it's a reasonable move. It's too bad cause it was actually really god damned fun.

I just hope the multiplayer level isn't that rooftop level from the Xbox beta though. That one looked kind of dull.
