Morning Discussion

By Alice O'Connor, Feb 16, 2011 5:00am PST Hullo, Internet. You've caught me in the middle of panicking about losing everything on my hard drive, after a spot of repartitioning went pear-shaped. All my documents, my pictures, not to mention all my saved games and settings. It's a wee bit frustrating. I've had no luck with basic file recovery programs so I'll have to go deeper with one of those super mega fancy turbo-deep tools. Internet, learn a lesson from me: back up your files.

All this must wait until later, though. I'm off to see a man about a video game, so I'll leave you in the capable hands of the rest of the Shacknews news newsShack newsteam.

alan aragon's january scientific review is out. (http://alanaragon.com). it's 10 a month, but in my opinion worth dropping a couple cups of coffee for.

shill: i got a beta invite for fitocracy. it's basically a workout logging web app that's based around rpg elements and incorporates social aspects, like challenges (coming) and other pretty neat stuff. we can follow each other, track friends workouts, and more. it's closed beta, but if anybody is interested i have 8 invites left.

it's neat, i like it, and its surprisingly polished for being a couple months old and not full live. the community is cool so far, the devs are responsive and friendly, and i'm in the top 10 on the points leader board ::sunglasses::

other than that today is my "off day" and as a result i overslept and was late for work, didn't get to pack any of my food and am generally in a bad mood. i seriously think i get a little depressed if i don't work out.

oh yeah, ideas for calorie and nutrient dense meals (500-1000cals)? i'm always looking to add more choice to my diet.
