L.A. Noire Shows Off First Gameplay Trailer

Is it just me or do most of the main characters from this seem to be modeled/ motion captured/ designed directly from actors from the cast of Mad Men?

Wasn't sure about this one but after watching LA Confidential I might just have to pick this one up

I don't mean to be 'that guy' but... they still cant do arms well.

Going from - this game 'looks interesting' pre trailer to 'i have to get this game' after the trailer.

R* sure made some good trailers lately.

Rockstar's done it again with this trailer. Since RDR was being shown pre-release, they've been doing trailers the right way: Giving its viewers actual information.

Looks perfect. My only qualm is just from the footage of the dude walking I get horrible flashbacks of moving Rockstar characters around a world, which always gives me the distinct sensation of trying to push an over-sized action figure through a force field.

Looks like it could be fun, too bad its not coming to pc.

This comes out on the same day as Brink? =(

I think they both look amazing...I hope L.A. Noire doesn't kill Brink like many attributed Red Dead killing the sales of Alan Wake. I guess Brink is more of a different genre though.

Don't know why but after watching this I thought it'd be great if Rockstar could buy the rights to Cinemaware's It Came from the Desert or make a new game based around 1950's mutated giant bugs movies.

If I was Charlie Sheen and this trailer was a line of coke I would snort it.

Come on guys lets get our facts straight. A lot of people seem to praising the hell of Rockstar for the animations, setting, etc... Rockstar did not develop this! They are merely publishing the game. Team Bondi and independent Australian studio are the developers and deserve the credit you guys are giving Rockstar.

This one deserves my money. And Red Dead Red. And The Witcher 2. And S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

Those 4 are the only ones that made me say to myself: "I've got to HAVE THAT."

Here's hoping DX3 will join that lineup and not be fillers like mass effect, dead space, black ops, dragon age, modern warfare...

The keeping notes / comparing notes gameplay reminded me of one of my favourite childhood games, Activision's "Murder on the Mississippi" (1986).

I trust that "L.A. Noire" is way more sympathetic than "Murder" was; you could progress thru "Murder" collecting evidence and keeping notes and make it very close to the end of the game but never be able to finish it because of some note that you wrote down wrong. I am interested to see how the game plays out if you are just a terrible detective. Does the "Case" restart for you, or allow you to make a certain # of mistakes before it restarts? Or is it just GAME OVER, YOU SUCK.

I loved seeing actual gameplay from "L.A. Noire". It's the first footage to convince me that I need to buy this game and help me forget about how bored I was with the original "Mafia" game (PC 2002; XBOX 2004). Mind you I only played the XBOX version.

Yes, the technology looks great... I just don't know about the setting. Not looking forward to playing a game about the 1940's. Sure it's something different but I never liked that era. I'm sure you will have fun if you don't mind that but I'll pass.

This has me more excited than RDR. The adventure case solving mixed with a mafia 2 type city has me very excited. Makes me wonder how static it's all going to be.

Mafia 2's issue was the city had nothing to do. Just buy clothes or guns. Makes the world feel beautiful but empty. You add too much to do and it starts making the city feel like a joke. It takes you out of character. I wonder how they will balance it.

Both the facial animations and the environments look amazing in this trailer. I can't believe how realistic some of those facial expressions look. In a couple cases it almost looks too good, to the point where the face stands out a bit compared to the rest of the scene.. but I can live with that. This trailer, far more than the other's they've shown so far, really sells this game. Looks great!

Cant wait till this comes out. I was impressed with the behind the scenes videos I've seen showing how they captured the actors but seeing it in the actual game blew me away.

This is the only game that makes me wish I had a console. Maybe I can rent one or borrow one.
