Evening Reading
by Garnett Lee, Feb 04, 2011 5:00pm PSTAnother NFL season comes to a close this weekend with what looks like an epic game in the making. For the ensuing months after ends, I won't forget about sports completely. I'll get into March Madness, watch the NBA Finals--and maybe some playoff games if there's a good matchup, take in a few baseball games. But really, I'll be flirting with these other sports to tide me over until training camp gets going marking the beginning of the new season.
I wonder if the same sort of thing happens to gamers with more specific tastes than mine. Like, does an Oblivion fan fool around with Borderlands sort of half engaged while waiting for Skyrim? It's hard for me to judge because I like a wide range of games and the problem I always face is deciding which ones get my time.
While we ponder this and other grandiose questions, here are the highlights from today's video game news on the Shack:
Rumor: Slant Six was working on Medal of Honor Vita game
Simpsons, King of the Hill writer joins Angry Birds film
Class of Heroes 2 coming to PSN on June 4
Shelter gameplay trailer is delightful, horrifying
Alan Wake Humble Bundle launches

What kind of machine do you have?
I dont have a HD tv yet, so i'm looking for something with RGB component (or classic RCA) because that's what my TV supports.
This would be playing mostly DVD's, standard def Divx files, Quicktime trailers and some HD mkv.
Any ideas?
Is the Acer Revo good in enough in terms of performance to handle the HD videos?

It's a C2D 6300 or something, OC'd into the 3.5ghz range. I think.
I'm really happy with 99% of it, except the software for the remote is my biggest gripe. I hate it. I'm using a Logitech Harmony 880, and some Interlliremote software. But the real source of my stress is that the IR reader is my Soundblast platinum so I'm limited to the functions of THAT remote.
it's weird.
