Company of Heroes Online, WWE Online Canceled
by Xav de Matos, Feb 02, 2011 3:00pm PSTWe have now learned the reason Relic Entertainment and THQ announced an end to the ongoing Company of Heroes Online open beta; the game has been canceled. According to THQ's earnings report, THQ has "reevaluated its strategy of adapting certain Western content for free-to-play online games in Asian markets."
Although Company of Heroes Online also saw life stateside, THQ has decided to scrap the entire project across all regions in one fell swoop. Also cut due to this adaptation reevaluation? An unreleased, free-to-play WWE Online title, exclusive to Asian territories.
Hopefully this means Relic will utilize its resources to extend the Company of Heroes franchise into a full-fledged sequel.
