Report: I Am Alive Moved to XBLA, PSN [Updated]
by Steve Watts, Feb 01, 2011 9:00am PST[Update: Feb. 7, 2011] Jeuxvideo now claims the original story it released was made up as part of an improvised gag for its web show.
[Update: 14:05pm] An Ubisoft spokesperson has issued a statement on the report: "We have not officially announced anything regarding the launch date or platforms for I AM Alive. We have nothing to announce at this time."
[Original Story] Disaster survival game I Am Alive has reportedly become a downloadable title. The news comes from French site Jeuxvideo (via NeoGAF). The game has apparently spent time at various developers, and Ubisoft now wants it released this year for XBLA and PSN.
We knew that the game had switched developers in 2009, but now it sounds like Ubisoft Shanghai isn't the only studio to have a crack at it. The game has been subject to delays, and is already arriving two years off of its original schedule.
The game's official Web site is undergoing maintenance, which could be a sign of an impending announcement. We've reached out to Ubisoft for comment, and will update as information becomes available.
